1. Digital Personal Data Protection Bill:

The first round shall lay emphasis on the Digital Personal Data Protection Bill, which states that the Government of India shall now be allowed to process the personal data of individuals to maintain law and order in the nation, while respecting the people’s right to privacy. 

 

2. Information Technology Amendment Rules, 2023:

The second round shall be focusing on the Information Technology Amendment Rules, 2023, which allow the government to check the credibility of any information related to the central government’s business, implying that the government can scrutinise online comments, news reports and opinions about officials and ministries and censor such information if seen appropriate by the government.
